Hot Dipped Galvanized Iron Steel Tubes & Pipes
Hot-dipped galvanized iron steel tubes and pipes are those pipes that have been coated with zinc through a process called Hot-Dip Galvanization (HDG)
Process:
The pipes are cleaned and then immersed in a bath of molten zinc at around 860°F (460°C). The zinc alloys with the metal, forming a metallurgical bond. After it is fully coated, it is lifted back up and exposed to the atmosphere. This exposure will make the zinc react to oxygen, creating zinc oxide.

Appearance:
The zinc forms a crystalline pattern on the surface, sometimes called “spangle”.

Benefits:
The zinc coating protects the pipes from corrosion, and the material can be used in high-temperature applications.

Applications:
They are used in a variety of industrial applications, including water supply and distribution systems, plumbing and drainage, fire sprinkler systems, and more.

Comparison to pre-galvanized:
They are more expensive than pre-galvanizing and it has a longer life span and offers more resistance to corrosion.
